1 · Who we are

Book Wild BC ("we", "us", the "Platform") operates bookwildbc.ca, an online marketplace where independent adventure operators — charter captains, tour guides and lodging hosts across British Columbia (each an "Outfitter") — list and sell their trips and stays. When you book, you enter into a contract for the trip or stay with the Outfitter named on the listing. Book Wild BC acts as the Outfitter's booking and payment agent: we operate the website, process payments, and send confirmations on their behalf. Payment to us discharges your payment obligation to the Outfitter for the amount paid.

2 · Bookings, prices and payment

Prices are shown in Canadian dollars and exclude taxes until checkout, where GST (and, for accommodation, PST and MRDT) are itemized before you pay. Some listings take a deposit at booking with the balance due before your trip; others charge in full. The amounts, and what each covers, are shown before you confirm. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. A booking is confirmed only when payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation email with a booking reference (BW-…). Unpaid bookings hold your spot for 30 minutes, after which the hold is released. Seats and dates are sold in real time and can sell out while a booking sits unpaid.

3 · Cancellations and refunds

Each listing displays its cancellation policy before you book. Unless a listing says otherwise: cancel 14 or more days before your trip or check-in for a full refund of amounts paid; cancel 7–14 days before for a 50% refund; within 7 days, amounts paid are non-refundable. You can cancel eligible bookings yourself from the Find My Booking page — the exact refund is shown before you confirm. Refunds return to your original payment method and typically arrive within 3–10 business days depending on your bank.

Weather and safety: the captain or operator may cancel or reschedule any trip for weather, sea state, or mechanical or safety reasons. If the Outfitter cancels and you can't rebook, you receive a full refund — no cancellation windows apply.

4 · Your responsibilities

Arrive at the listed meeting point at least 30 minutes before departure — trips leave on time, and a missed departure is treated as a late cancellation. Provide accurate guest counts, contact details, and any information the Outfitter reasonably requests (for example mobility considerations or dietary needs for full-day trips). Follow crew instructions at all times. Guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or whose behaviour endangers others, may be refused boarding without refund. Fishing trips may require a valid BC or tidal-waters fishing licence — the listing states whether licences are included or must be purchased separately.

5 · Assumption of risk and waivers

Marine and wilderness activities carry inherent risks — weather, sea conditions, wildlife, remote locations, and physical activity among them. By booking you acknowledge these risks on behalf of every guest in your group. Outfitters may require each participant to sign a release of liability or waiver before departure; refusing to sign may be treated as a same-day cancellation without refund. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under British Columbia law.

6 · The Platform's role and liability

Outfitters are independent businesses responsible for their own vessels, equipment, crews, licences, insurance and the delivery of every trip and stay. We vet operators before listing them and require proof of applicable certifications, but we do not operate trips ourselves. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Book Wild BC's total liability in connection with any booking is limited to the amount you paid through the Platform for that booking. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as travel, accommodation or lost wages connected to a cancelled or rescheduled trip.

7 · Promo codes and referral links

Promo and creator codes apply to the pre-tax price, one code per checkout, and may carry usage limits, minimum amounts or expiry dates. Codes have no cash value and can be withdrawn at any time. Visiting a creator's referral link may apply their code to your booking automatically — you can remove it at checkout.

8 · Reviews

Only guests with a completed booking are invited to review, and reviews are tied to real trips. Keep them honest and civil; we may decline to publish content that is unlawful, abusive, or unrelated to the experience. We don't edit the substance of reviews and don't accept payment to alter or remove them.

9 · General

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and disputes belong to the courts of British Columbia. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. We may update these terms from time to time; the version published at the time of your booking applies to that booking. Questions?
